I entered South Australia today. I didn't know there was a fruit fly quarantine station at the border, so it cost me an apple and a mandarin to come in. The inspector didn't want my cucumber or spinach; it seems fruit fly don't like greens.
I'm trying to spend some time poking about the places I pass through. Yesterday, I stopped at some silo art at Lascelles and Patchewollock. Last night, I stayed in the small Victorian town of Underoo. I liked the look of the old shed near the camping area, so I set up the camera timer, giving myself ten seconds to get into position in front of the shed. I thought this would be enough time to jump up onto the platform and strike a pose, and it was enough time until I rammed my knee into the large wooden platform on about the third jump. My pose was not too elegant that time! I reset the timer to twenty seconds after that. This afternoon, I looked around Pinnaroo, where I am staying tonight. Each time I left the free camp area, a dog started barking nearby. Turns out his name is Shadow, and his owner assured me Shadow was friendly. The owner was pretty friendly, too. Shadow is one big ball of fluff.
