Condobolin Egret

I was poking about the van yesterday morning in Condobolin, NSW, when I spotted this beautiful egret in a tree a short distance around the lake. The bird perched calmly in the tree while I photographed it, but I wanted a bit of action. I politely said to the egret that I would leave it alone if it just took off, flew a short way and then landed back in the tree. A minute or two later - after shedding excess weight - it did exactly that! True to my word, I left it alone.
