Slope Opera

Admiral's Arch is quite a well known formation in Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island. The arch is OK, but the seal colony there is something special. After a few days there, I came to understand a little bit of what was going on within the colony, and it was fascinating to watch the little sub-plots play out on the rocky slopes. Yesterday, there were territorial disputes, attempts at stealing a feed, pups looking for their mothers and what I can only label as insane bravery as seals battled pretty big seas. I'm feeling a little National Geographic-ish tonight.
