I returned to Central Queensland early in 2020 to photograph two former students. When I retired from teaching just over two years ago, I committed to photographing Paige for her school formal. I taught Paige in her first year of high school, and was more than happy to return to Rocky to see her near the end of her high school years. Her formal partner, Liam, is the younger brother of another former student of mine, so it was great to catch up with his family, too. Secondly, soon after I started travelling, I visited Tash, who I had taught when she was eight years old. She asked me to photograph her wedding to Josh, which was planned to be just a couple of weeks after Paige's formal. The timing was perfect, so I was pleased to be able to help them out. As it turned out, their wedding took place just a few days before severe restrictions were placed on attendance at weddings. Once I arrived in Rockhampton, a couple of other opportunities arose. Much to my delight, I was asked to photograph Ben and his family to mark the occasion of Ben's formal. I had taught both Ben and his sister, and had worked with his parents for many years, so this was special for me. Also, I caught up with Katia and Callum, whom I had met while travelling in South Australia in 2019. It was lovely to see them again, and particularly special because they are expecting a child.
